October 26th, 2016, Hong Duc University, led by Dr. Hoang Nam, Vice President, received and worked with the delegation from United States Forest Service, United States of America, led by Mr. Michael Jonhn Furniss, International Consultant on Climate Change.

 United States Forest Service (USFS) is an agency under the state supervision of Department of Agriculture, United States of America which is responsible for managing 155 national forests and 20 national grasslands with a total area of 193 million acres (780,000 km2) . The main parts of the agency include the National Forest System, Forestry and Individual Forest and States, and Development and Research Branch.

Mission of  USFS is "to strengthen the vitality, diversity and development proliferation of national forest and grassland to meet the needs of today and future's generations." Slogan of USFS is "take care of land and serve the people." As the leading federal agency in the conservation of natural resources, the USFS is at the forefront of the protection, management and use of water ecosystems, wilderness, national forest land. The jurisdiction of ecosystem management of USFS links social, economic and ecological factors in order to maintain and improve environmental quality to meet the needs of present and future.

In the working session, two Parties exchanged the reciprocal basic information, discussing the prospects in the training cooperation and science research, for example, the cooperation in climate change, integrating programs to pay for ecosystem services in curricula; and sharing methods, materials, lectures in the fields of climate change, ecosystems and forest environment.

The working session ended with success, opening up great opportunities and prospects for two Parties to strengthen the relationship in the future./.
